Aerial reconnaissance photograph taken by a USAAF plane on 31 May 1944.

Photographed before Crematoria II, III, IV and V were dismantled and Crematorium I was transformed into an air raid shelter i.e. following the November 1944 order that gassing operations were to cease.

A : CREMATORIA. From left to right Crematoria 2,3, 4 and 5. The buildings are to be seen to the left of each letter. See II Page 4 .

B : CENTRAL AVENUE IN THE WOMEN'S CAMP. See II Page 3 . Just below the red letter is the kitchen seen on II Page 4 .

C : MEN'S CAMP. Pictures may be seen on II Page 2 .

D : MAIN (RAIL) ENTRANCE. This leads to the disembarkation area seen on II Page 3 .
